American Legion Post 97 in Auburn, IN is proud to be affiliated with the Sons of The American Legion (S.A.L.). This group, which was founded in 1932, exists to honor the service and sacrifice of the members of The American Legion. Within the association, the members of The American Legion are commonly referred to as “Legionnaires.”
Although S.A.L. has its own membership program, the organization is not a separate entity from The American Legion. Rather, S.A.L. is a program initiative of The American Legion. In fact, numerous Legionnaires hold dual membership in S.A.L. This organizational setup allows our members to socialize with a larger community.
